The Province of Lower Austria is actively working on regional mobility topics of the future and needed support in structuring and evaluating organization/cooperation models and implementation instruments for mobility services and infrastructure. The objective was to develop a tool to analyze current and new instruments and make recommendations for future mobility management considerations.
Our solution
Our denkstatt experts developed – through a series of workshops with the Province as well as the regional transport authority, development agency, and transport provider – a multi-criteria tool for evaluating organization/cooperation models and implementation instruments.
The tool was applied to evaluate current models and instruments, taking into account different scenarios (e.g. focus on faster implementation, more control, higher innovation potential, etc.). Moreover, a comprehensive manual for the tool was developed.
Client benefit
The tool allows the Province to make more-informed decisions regarding organization/cooperation models and implementation instruments for mobility services, in particular with regard to a set of mobility services for a particular region. The accompanying real-world application and the development of an accompanying manual ensured that the tool could be well applied in the future.
