Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) wanted to address the topic of sustainable mobility, gain insight into the environmental effect of employee travel, and foster sustainable travel behavior of its employees (commute and business travel) and clients through infrastructure and communication measures.
Our solution
Our experts reviewed existing mobility data and policies, conducted an employee mobility survey (with a stellar response rate of >60%), and calculated the emissions caused by employee commute and business travel. Based on this comprehensive analysis and best practices for measures, we co-created an implementation roadmap with prioritized measures for:
- Fostering public transport
- Fostering active mobility, in particular cycling
- Enabling sustainable business travel
- Improving communication and awareness-raising
The mobility concept/roadmap was set up for future implementation by the aws Mobility Manager and Team and also presented to management and staff.
Client benefit
aws gained a deep insight into employee travel behavior, the associated environmental effect, and opportunities towards more sustainable corporate mobility. A comprehensive, tailored mobility concept was developed and will be implemented by aws.
Moreover, awareness among employees regarding sustainable mobility was raised, and the staff was engaged in particular through the employee mobility survey, and an internal mobility team was established which accompanied the whole process and drives the implementation of the developed measures.
